K`ylana watched with avid interest as the shuttle housing Nix and Smith
departed from the obs lounge and initiated a comm to the bridge, "Track the
shuttle at all times," she ordered, "I want to know its every move, if you
notice anything erratic or unusual inform me immediately.

"Aye Captain." Marapr let his fingers glide along the console, "Target's
locked." he stated as acknowledgment.

"Thank you Mr Marapr." A slow lingering breath escaped the captain's lips as
she glanced to her chrono for what was probably the hundredth time over the
past couple of hours. The waiting game was something that she hated,
especially when communication was so sporadic. She worried but that worry
was often kept to herself, putting on her game face she exited the room and
moved briskly toward the bridge "Any word from the away team Commander?" K`y
asked the moment she past the doors to the brains of the vessel.

Toby had not, and was not pacing the bridge, he was strolling the bridge and
checking the stations, for the 5th time. There were several sighs as the
arrival of the Captain gave the Commander something to do besides ask them
if anything's changed, again. He turned to look at K`y from the science
station, "No Captain, nothing yet."

"It was confirmed however that the shuttle did land at the planned
coordinates... correct?" There was hope in the part klingon's voice as she
thought of those on the away team.

"We do have confirmation that the shuttle did land at the planned
coordinates, or close enough as to not make a difference. Maybe... The
radiation is interfearing with the com channels." Instead of dry washing his
hands, Toby clasped his hands behind his back and gave every outward sign of
being sure and confident in the wellbeing of the away team, when inside he
was anything but. Well sure and confident, until you realized he didn't
usually take so many laps around the bridge and constantly ask the same
questions.

There was a slow nod of the Captain's head in response before she sat in her
chair and clasped her hands over her stomach. "How has the flare activity
been?" K`y sought questions to keep the minds busy.

"About the same, which is why maybe they haven't contacted us because of the
radiation. It is increaseing, not getting less." Toby made his way over to
his chair and sat down. "I do have them listening for the faintest
possibility of an attempt however."

"I have to wonder if they had made contact yet and if Cho'lu established
strong enough ties for them to trust the away team's recommendation for
inoculation and safety." The colony was Federation but it was still new and
the trust of the masses were not always the same as the trust of the
officials.

"I don't know. I wish I did. They're too far away for me to feel. Though
Cait is good. She'll manage. And we can find out later why they delayed in
contacting the ship once they landed." Toby frowned at that.

"Have we scanned for frequency fluctuations as well as simply listening for
their comm? Perhaps they are attempting but we are simply not receiving the
message." Vilqa asked

"I even once suggested that someone step outside the ship and look for signs
of smoke signals. Of course at that point I was firmly but politely told
that they were scanning and looking for all possible indications of
communications from the away team, and that there had been nothing and to
please find something else to do." Toby grinned a bit at that. "I think I'm
getting on their nerves."

Vilqa laughed, "So you wish as much as I do that you were planetside don't
you?"

"Well my luck, the cave would collapse on me, I just wish they'd let us know
they're all right. That they arrived safely and what not. Not knowing is
about to drive me to distraction. Or cause the bridge crew to shove me out
an airlock." He leaned back and reached up to run a hand through his hair,
pulling some loose from it's usual neat tail.

A faint smirk crossed her lips, then they were momentarily interrupted,
"Captain we have received notification from Smith that the shuttle has
arrived to the asteroid field."K`y felt mixed emotions as she nearly thought
they had notification from the surface but the notice from the shuttle was
no less important. "Thank you." she replied and looked toward Toby knowing
he probably had thought the same as her for a moment.

Toby tensed then frowned, relaxing again, "Well at least someone is making
sure we know they're alright."
