I want you and the team to be mindful of any possible crustal displacement which would hinder the caves or any other structure to be unstable." "Nothing showing on the scanners at this time. I'll keep watching, as seismic activity is increasing, but very slowly." Justin replied. "Thank you," Vilqa said, "I will have out science teams on the vessel monitor any core warming "Understood Captain." "Once Doctor Blake has reached your location have her contact the Ridge for an update status on the inoculations." Vilqa also thought it may ease Toby's mind to hear his wife's voice. "Will do Captain. That should be any time now." Just replied. [Cave entrance] The trip back through the tunnels had been a tense one with Cait monitoring her patient every step of the way. The poor woman was just barely clinging to life and Cait wasn't sure that even with all the facilities of the ship itself she would be able to save her, let alone the limited medbay of the shuttle. But still, she had to try. Kyla was so far gone, she most likely wouldn't survive coming out of stasis. So that option was out. "Blake to Lox. We're at the cave entrance. You need to hurry. My patient can't take much more." "Lox here, Transporting now." A moment later the patient dematerialized from Cait's location and rematerialized at the shuttle. "Transport complete, Signal when you are ready for transport Doc." Cait waited anxiously as her patient was transported. "I'm ready now, Lox. After me you need to get my tech." "Transport initiated" A moment later Cait appeared on the shuttle's Transporter pad. "Welcome back Doc." "Thanks, Justin." Even as she spoke Cait was moving to get her patient - Hide quoted text - settled on the biobed and starting treatment. She shook her head as the readings came in. "Not good...not good at all." "Transport initiated." A moment later the medical tech appeared on the transporter pad. "Welcome aboard." The tech gave Justin a small smile as she moved to help the doc with the woman. [Vimy Ridge] "Toby we should hear soon. It shouldn't be that much longer that Cait is with Lox at the shuttle." Vilqa reassured her Number One, "We need to get our status update soon." She then took in a breath, "Has anybody heard from Nix and Smith?" A quick nod, "Captain they are still within the allotted time given. A solar wave has passed but I am still picking up all things normal from the shuttle." Toby nodded and gave K`y a smile, "Am I that transparant Captain?" He was starting to worry, it had been a while since they last heard anything about what was going on. At that moment, the turbolift doors opened, and Jason walked onto the bridge. It was a spectacular vessel, one of his favorites. He cleared his throat. "Acting Lieutenant Jason DuMont, reporting for duty ma'am" "Mr. DuMont please relief the Chief at the station." "Aye" He said, as he moved to tactical, waiting for the young man to move. He stood behind the station, knowing he was where he belonged. [Shuttle] "Lox to Vimyridge. She'd also keep a close watch on the inoculation progress the techs seemed to be making. She knelt down to treat a rather elderly woman as best she could even if it were only to keep her comfortable. As she treated the woman her thoughts turned to that of her own mother's failing health. Kat sighed softly as the woman drifted off to sleep leaning against the gave wall. 'well at least she's a little more comfortable' she thought. So far most of the cases she was seeing were fairly mild much to her relief. She looked to her left noticing a small group huddled together. "anyone happen to check them over there?" she asked as one by one the techs shrugged. Kat started over towards the group "i........it's ok " she said softly as they seemed to cringe as she approached. "I'm a doctor.... I'm here to help you." she told them. Slowly within a few moments the group allowed her to move closer. Marcus finally made his way back to Kat and the group, he observed the doctor for a few moments, watching the way she dealt with her patients, and hoping that Cait made it back to the ship in time to save her patient. "Commander Wilkinson," He paused momentarily, "Is there any additional help needed." He held up a patient hand, "That you think can be given at this time." Kat looked up for a moment to see Saladin had returned. She had just begun to run scans on the group when he'd addressed her. She looked over her shoulder noticing one of the med techs struggling to inoculate the few people next to her. "I think we've about taken care of everyone...Commander......but if you'd like you could give Crewman Harper a hand over there." she told Marcus. "I believe this is her first away mission." she added. [Shuttle] "Doc. The captain would like a word if you have a moment." Justin said. [Vimy] Vilqa nodded toward Toby as a welcome for him to initiate comms with his wife but she mouthed the words 'Inoculation Status'. Toby nodded to K`y, letting her know he got it and then tilted his head to the side ever so slightly, "Commander Blake, what is the status on the inoculations?" He worked very hard to keep his worry out of his voice, keeping it calm and firm, he was quite proud of himself not to mention glad that her empathy was weaker than his. [Shuttle] Even if Cait's empathy had been stronger than his, she wouldn't have noticed so focused was she on her patient. Her voice was definately distracted. "Innoculations were going well when I left. Doctor Wilkinson and Doctor Juard are finishing those up and checking the rest---" Alarms started going off in the medbay. "Damn it! 20ccs adrenaline now! Lox, hand me the resucitator." Cait didn't seem to realize her com was still on. [Vimy] Toby looked at K`y and arched a brow, "Doctor, is someone on the away team injured?" [Shuttle] "Lox here. No, it is one of the indigenous personnel. Radiation poisoning I think." He handed Cait the resuscitator. [Vimy] "I see, what we really need to know is the situation down there? Has anyone been able to convince the locals to be transported off the planet to safety? Saladin mentioned they weren't wanting to be moved." Toby sighed, and pushed down the less than polite or kind thought he had about Cait trying to save the life of someone who may not really want saving. "No idea Commander." Smith interjected in hopes to calm the Captain's worries. "Thank you Mr. Smith. Ms Nix I suggest you two getting a move on soon. Vilqa out." Nix had said what the Captain needed to hear and would not call off the mission -- for now. "Will do, Captain," she said, focusing back on the area she was searching, tilting her head as she noted something unusual. "Computer, save readings to Nix Alpha one zero." "Not a moment too soon Nix," Smith guided the shuttle to the new coordinates, "I'll trust you that we are safe here." His eyes turned to focus on NIx momentarily, "I like you. You live by the seat of your pants and I could tell by the Captain's voice you are putting her on edge." Turning back to focus on his task he smirked and wondered if there was a new opportunity within his grasp. Kylee arched her brow, before letting out a laugh. "Is there really any other way to live?" she asked, a smirk on her lips as she settled back in to her chair, still gathering data for a few more seconds before it was destroyed by the solar flare. "Captain seems to have lost the fact that taking risks can be quite enjoyable.." "I don't think she's forgotten, I think there's some bitterness that once she got that final solid pip she no longer could take the risks." Smith shrugged, "I've known her a long time. Served with her on a few vessels. My brother was quite close to her back when she was an ensign. Believe me I know what she is capable of; you just never knew her before she was a Captain." - Hide quoted text - "I just never knew her before she was Captain," she said, the data from the probe ceasing. "Brace yourself.. there may be a bit of turbulence from the flare.. but nothing more than our initial flight here.." she said, turning her gaze to stare out the window to watch the flare as it passed. "So, which ship does your brother serve on now?" she asked. Smith pondered the question momentarily, "He is on the Audax. Steamrunner class." He nodded, "Vilqa once commanded her before the 'Ridge." The shuttle rumbled but this time it wasn't as noticeable as the idle chit chat seemed to ease the nerves and fear of being imploded by a awry debris displaced by the flare. "So are you getting the data you need?" Kylee nodded, taking a deep breath as she feels the vibrations from the flare move over them. "Vilqa has been a captain for a while then.." she murmurs, her attention turning to the data flowing across the screen. "Yes.. getting what I need.. You're not getting nervous about being out here, are you?" she asks, smirking as she looks over at him. "Me? Nervous," Smith snorted. "Clearly you jest. I just want to ensure we keep our timings," he interjected. "Yeah she's been a Captain a few years at least... can't remember when exactly off the top of my head but it's been a while." He glanced over his shoulder, "Is the data clean?" Kylee arched her brow at the question about the data, glaancing over at him. "If you mean is the data uncorrupted from the flare, than yeah, got everything I need before it hit. Now, just getting readings from the flares effect on the area for research purposes," she said. "There have been several locations where the asteroids have been sent towards the sun, and I have a faint trail of the ship responsible, so will have someone in engineering help determine what type of ship was responsible." Smith nodded, "I am certain we can have security assist as well if you need." His arm raised slowly to wipe his brow, "So are there any other locations you wish you venture off to?" Kylee furrowed her brow, pulling up several pieces of data on the screen. "One more area I want to go.. the section of the field closer to the planet so far unaffected.
