"Lt Nix to Smith, please respond," she stated, moving to the turbolift. She would have to gather together her supplies, and check the shuttle to make sure it was prepared for what she needed. - Hide quoted text - Smith looked toward Sasha as the pair were taking a mid-day siesta and audibly groaned, "Smith here," the cocky Brit replied while coiling Sasha's hair with his finger. "How can I help you?" Kylee tilted her head as she heard the man speak, before giving a slight shrug. "Captain wants you to take me out to the asteroid field. I want to leave as soon as possible," she said, not one to waste time on pleasantries, her own excitement causing her to be more blunt than usual. "Oh," Smith exhaled slowly and kissed the top of Sasha's head as he spoke causing a muffled sound for Nix, "How soon is soon? I did have some," he picked the correct words and came up with the basics, "things to do." Sasha poked his side to which he gasped audibly. Kylee blinked, climbing on to the turbolift. "Smith.. when I say as soon as possible.. that means now.. So, whatever you are doing, set it aside and meet me in the turbolift in 15 minutes," she stated. Sasha continued her taunting of Smith as he spoke to Kylee, "Turbolift? Can you please be more specific as to which one?" Yes cocky but it was a logical question all things considering. Kylee blinked, before shaking her head, realizing she had spoken the wrong word. "Not turbolift, shuttle bay.. fifteen minutes, bring any gear you need, including radiation suit.." she stated. "You're taking me out to the asteroid field.." "Fifteen minutes," came the reply while he thought it was more than enough time to make it there just in time if Profen could gather Smith's gear for him and drop it off in the shuttle bay, "Alright I'll be there in fifteen," there was a pause, "At the most eighteen." He closed the link and looked toward Sasha apologetically, "I need to go but hold the thoughts you had and we shall resume on my return." "Fifteen minutes or you'll get to spend time in the holodeck training with me to get in shape to make it on time.." she stated, her excitement eating at her, and his response annoying her slightly. She had work to do, and wanted to find the results as soon as possible. Smith laughed out at Nix's belief of authority over him, she was no naive and so new... "If you say so." And for a second time he closed the link, "Need to go, the witch has her claws out." Getting up out of bed he kissed Sasha and pulled on his tunic, "See you later." Sasha just smirked, "I love overzealous officers; sometimes they just don't get it how much of a hell we can create for them..." The woman left it at that as Smith winked toward her and walked out of the quarters toward the shuttle bay in a slow stroll as to use up every second of time alloted to arrive. Kylee frowned as she rode the turbolift down to the correct deck. She could see this was going to be a long research trip. "I'll see you there.." she stated, exiting the turbolift and moving to the science lab. She quickly gathered up the crates she would need, her brow wrinkling at the case with the radiation suit inside. Kylee arrived in the shuttle bay, setting her gear down as she looked around for Smith. Spotting him, she studied him for a few moments as she pulled out her suit. She sighed as she pulled it on, finding it uncomfortable as hell, but at least she was being allowed to do her work. "Smith, we will be taking out shuttle 12. Captain wants you to pilot a trip out to the asteroid field." Smith nodded, "Alright. Are you ready to go because I certainly am." He rolled his eyes and climbed into the shuttle for a quick inspection of the controls and shuttle systems. Kylee arched her brow at his tone, pondering if the captain had assigned him to this to cause her grief. She picked up her gear and followed him on board the shuttle. Stowing everything in the proper place, she took a seat and began to plot in their route. "We have only four hours, so we'll be taking a circular pathway to each of the locations." "Ahh so this isn't a pleasure cruise then?" He stated and yet questioned at the same time, "We'll be back in time, I don't want the Captain on my neck any more than you do." He fired engines, "Bridge this is Smith requesting permission to take off." "Permission granted, watch for space debris." Smith acknowledged, "Thank you. Smith out." Thrusters charged and lifted the vessel smoothly from the deck, "Lieutenant. Hold tight." Once they were past the doors and at what would be considered a just barely safe distance from the vessel he pulled the throttle as it were and took the shuttle out at increasing speeds. I have only met two of the away team members and will shortly meet another one. Once back on the ship, I plan to make myself know to everyone there. That is if we ever get there. I am hoping and praying we will. On a more happy note, I will be visiting my family when I get back the ship. It will be my first shore leave ever. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'll be away for one week. Just one week, I hope that I can stand being away from work for that long. However, I won't get a away from a starship. My parents stay on the USS Stone Age. That reminds me of an old mission I once did. I was on a planet that was in the Stone Age. I almost got discovered. Thank God for a cloaking device. It was lovely, though, seeing a stone age. Well, It turned out fine. I better stop rambling on and get to work.
